Stopper® Station Testimonial
We used the illuminated push buttons in a recording studio to turn on the "recording" signs. From any studio the status is shown by the lighted button. They love it! Looks very professional.

Just purchased the STI-3300 kit. There are several options on the market but the quality of this product is evident in the quality materials and the ease of installation. Will be purchasing other items for my business and personal use. Highly recommend.
We had an intermittent problem with pupils activating the break glass call points in our automatic fire systems. Each alarm led to attendance by the local fire brigade but also led to considerable inconvenience, as all of the buildings in the school complex had to be evacuated every time an alarm was given. Since Derbyshire County Council Technical Services Department installed the Stoppers, not a single false fire alarm has been recorded.
We installed fire alarm systems in all secondary schools under Local Education Authority responsibility as part of a rolling programme – some 30 schools in total. The novelty of break glass call points and children being children meant that false fire alarms were occurring, in one school in particular during exam time which proved especially disruptive. We have now installed Stoppers in all the schools and it generally does appear to have curbed the problem. it’s a good device and we will certainly consider using it again in similar situations.
We have specified the Stopper based on the success of the units in the USA reported by National Amusements, owners of Showcase Cinemas, in preventing the malicious use of break glass call points, especially in the unstaffed auditorium. The units are now being installed in a number of cinemas throughout the UK.
We had experienced a high incidence of students breaking call points and falsely setting off the fire alarms, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights when a little too much drink had been consumed. This inevitably led to false call outs for the fire brigade, which became a real nuisance. Since we installed the Stoppers from STI, we have only had one incident, compared with four or five in the last term prior to installing them.
We found your cages via “Google” doing a search for smoke detector guards. Both our applications are for Prison sites in New South Wales where the guard provides protection against possible vandalism to our smoke detectors by the inmates. Previous products have failed or have introduced a means of the inmates inflicting harm. To date, we have not received a feedback to suggest that your STI–8200–SS have succeeded or introduced another hazard. The fact that they have ordered the second lot of 50 would seem promising.
We were advised by the Fire Brigade that we had generated some 85 nuisance calls in a fairly short time period due to our client group hitting the break glass call points, so we had to find some way of deterring them. We purchased the Stoppers with the built in alarms and since installing them in one particular area only we've had only half a dozen calls. I've got nothing but compliments for the Stopper. It has certainly proved excellent value for money.
We have one school in the area in which the problem of false fire alarms was horrendous. We installed the Stopper thinking then that it perhaps wouldn't overcome the vandal element but we have been really amazed by the results. It has been a huge success — since installing them I don’t think we've had one false alarm.
We discovered STI products using the Internet. We needed to guard the fluorescent lights in our Scout Hall to comply with safety regulations and prevent accidental damage. STI’s Light Damage Stoppers were cheaper than products from other manufacturers and they were delivered 'off the shelf' within 48 hours. They were easy to fit and, being coated in a gloss white polyurethane film, we find that they do not restrict the amount of light emitted. Their design also permits simple temporary removal in order to replace tubes and starters.
When something works and does the job, I believe in telling somebody about it. Well, the STI Stopper II works! In fact, we have them over every one of our manual pull stations in every one of our 17 resident halls and in every other building on campus. In fact, we now have over a thousand Stopper IIs protecting us from false fire alarms. I’ve been here at Bryant University for 17 years now and they were here when I arrived. From what I’ve been told, we have been using STI Stopper IIs for more than 25 years. We know a great product when it can take the punishment and still provide the necessary protection. A couple of years ago, our smoke detectors were getting beat up pretty bad. So on the basis of our success with STI Stopper IIs, we started installing STI Steel Web Stoppers over all our smoke detectors. No more problem! Thanks, STI!
We came across your products on the internet whilst searching a way of stopping clients staff constantly changing the air conditioning set points.

As an installation and maintenance company looking after air conditioning on behalf of our clients, we have installed many of your Thermostat Covers over new and existing controllers. This has allowed for the cooling/heating mode and the temperature set point to be preset and locked away in the polycarbonate key locked cover so that only authorized personnel and our maintenance staff have access. This results in a far better controlled environment but also allows staff to see the operating set points for the systems.

These controllers certainly help reduce nuisance calls when staff have inadvertently set the operating mode incorrectly.
If we use your comment, we’ll send you a free STI gift.
